I’ve seen Thiunder in the East but didn’t get a chance to play. Really nice components and a huge map. The map from Trail in Strength reminds me of Russia Beseiged. I don’t remember exactly but the scale maybe similar too.

Unfortunately no. I've not had much time for anything. The game is fairly complex but not overly so. You run the Germans and essentially your Panzer Corps are your maneuver units, while your infantry just mark the front line. Here's a YT vid on the game that can give you a better overview than I, at least at the moment.
