OK guys, Warning Order
First ever
Dragoons Assembly
21-23 February 2020, Raleigh NC
Working on finalizing venue now; one option is waaaaay cheaper, but very space-limited.
A full weekend of gaming with the dragoons and hanging out with friends while doing so.

This like an Origins thing?

This like an Origins thing?
Waaaaaaaaay smaller
-
I'm intrigued.
-
And much further away. ;)
-
Thanks for putting in the effort, Bayo.
No matter if it works out or not, trying is admirable.
Historicon, and even Origins, started as small, local game cons. Then they grew.
Please keep us posted. Raleigh is a long drive, but would consider it.

I brought this up to my wife this past weekend. She wasn't totally against it. I'll have to see.
-
It’s a four hour drive for me, so it’s a possibility for me.
-
Based on some planning discussions tonight, we're looking to nail down some venue info in the next few weeks, but we're pretty committed to this weekend, so if you want to start looking into travel and/or time off requests with work, you've got a target to work with

We're changing the date to the fall. Lots of issues came up w/ planning, not least of which was a bunch of personal crap I had to deal with.
Will put out detailed dates when we figure them out.
-
Unless something goes seriously sideways I wouldn't be able to attend any gathering this year. However, I would like to put my .02 on dates. How about the first week of October?

honestly, we're going to have to see what the football schedule is here, since we'll need to work around those dates for hotels.

Assuming that Captain Tripps still isn't infecting the world and this stays a small, ACD thing only, this fall is doable for me.
-
Isn't it just? ;D
Again for me, not sure but not saying 'no way,' at least not yet.
-
I suspect that, all things considered, regrettably, I won't be there. :(

I was kind of hoping we'd be doing the UK this Spring or early Summer but the way things are going I'm pretty sure there's going to be no flying by that point. We might shoot for the Fall. We can do our own Con, at the pub, with regular Newcastle Brown Ale service.
-
I can get my 2 gaming buddies to attend, and maybe even 'geek and JD :-) Plus we seem to have a guy here from Newcastle, although I haven't seem him on line for a while.
-
One does get the feeling that many conventions and gatherings will not happen this year.

Same for me. Would love to participate, but my actual ability to do so is iffy.

Yeah, we're already starting to see that. :(

For me this would probably only be possible as a ONLINE CONVENTION type thing ... one annual pilgrimage east of the rockies for a gamecon is pretty much as much as I can manage at this time (and that seems to get harder each year).

pretty sure there's no good way to do this in person until the plague subsides
