So, I saw this preview yesterday and my interest was piqued.

Bought it today despite its early access status. Will be trying it out over the weekend.

There is a 20% discount offered for owners of the other titles from the developer, so my total came out to about 18.99.

Gus, do you have They are Billions.  I'm wondering how the map size copares in AoD.

I don't, only because I didn't like the more modern steampunk setting for that game. The more traditional dark fantasy feel of Age of Darkness looks much more interesting to me.

That said, in the game description, the proprietary rendering tech that the developers put together for this game claims that it can generate up to 70,000 (!!!) enemy characters to throw at the player at any one time.

Haven't seen anything about the maps yet, but if the AI can throw 70,000 enemies at you at once I pray that the maps are decently-sized :)

Lots of love and support from the developers,  constant updating and additional new features. It is difficult though. But IMHO well worth the ~20.00 and appears it will only grow and get better. Great game to sit down with for a short amount of time with a beer.

I did get this.  Man, it is so much like They Are Billions. 

I'm amazed at people saying they cannot get past the 3 horror night.  Granted, I'm on easy since I'm learning the game, and maybe I just got lucky with the map I have.  The key is to conserve resources when it get close to the horror night, when you see which way it's going to come from, then build up defenses in that area.  So far at least, they're not pushing attacks in other areas at the same time.  That may because of the easy level I'm on.

I played three games and improved each time (on easy as well) but ultimately got my arse handed to me in the end. It's not an easy game. Another patch just came through on Steam as I type this.

Yep, I got a chance to poke around it at lunch.  Adds some new buildings.  Also added a new hero.
