Title: Watch on the Rhine

https://canvastemple.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=40

This looks interesting, and from a Publisher that I'm not familiar with, although I recognise some of the designers involved.

Canvas Temple is Jon Compton's company. He set it up after leaving OSS

Yep, saw that, also the name Ty Bomba is very familiar. The product quality looks very good indeed, although the range of games is very limited. I like the idea of mounted maps and 3/4" counters!

Ty is up there with Joe Miranda for how prolific he is as a designer (https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgamedesigner/1747/ty-bomba).  He was the guy behind Brezhnev's War and a whole lot of other post-WWII games.

He's sold some games to Canvas Temple, but Jon runs the company.

Watch on the Rhine does look pretty cool :)

Ty is pretty damn prolific, though some of his titles catch flak. Like Triumph of the Will, for instance...over on BGG I saw a post that said he thinks Ty will create anything just to see if wargamers bite and buy it. :)

Who knows. I only read those posts because I was checking out the game's standing among the community. I had Tomorrow The World (also by Ty) but that one was far too easy for the Japanese to win since they had so many more units than the Germans. Triumph of the Will looked much more scaled back and manageable, but the hate is palpable over there in the forums.

Damn right, there wouldn't be a hobby without ME.  ;D

I can reach out to Jon and ask.

Thanks. All joking apart, I would love to review it. I'd be willing to look at paying the shipping cost, if that's any help. Second Chance Games to keep some of their games, but they don't have this one - maybe because its pretty new.

And Dragoons everywhere would love to read that review I'm sure.  :applause:

Wherever would we be able to read such a thing, though?

I'm sure we'll think of something - there must be a place that would entertain the airing of such 'reviews'.

I remember hearing rumours about a 'front page' whatever and wherever that is?

If anyone ever actually writes a review around here we might find out.

I think for Legal purposes it would first have to be called, 'an Unofficial Review Inquiry'.  :hehe:
