I read this book a couple of years ago.  The discussion on the occupation may not be as extensive as you're looking for, but I thought it was a good description of the last weeks before the end of the war, and the first weeks of the occupation.

I’ve spent half my life’s earning on wargames, women, and drink. The rest I wasted.
