Oh, Banzai, this was so delicious.
Due to the usual probelms of funds not being voted by Parliament, King Charles had put much of the english fleet into ordinary.
This let the Dutch attack into the Thames river and burn or capture many. 
A real example of assuming the enemy is ready to surrender.
