This was the fifth time I’ve played, I think.  4 of the games ended with Russia ripping through AH and seizing enough VPs to win.  The 5th game saw Germany blitzing through Italy and winning that way.

That reminds me, I think I read a few posts on BGG about it, saying how the game pretty much plays out as it did historically unless you go for some ahistorical offensives.

I'll be setting up Worthington's 'Shiloh' later today.

Will do some more Zeppelin Raider, though I'm tempted to try to learn either A Distant Plain or Peloponnesian War, both of which came to me from the generous folks at GMT giving away freebies to laid off folks.

My copy of Imperial Struggle should be here next week.  A friend who was familiar with the rules walked me through the system over VASSAL this afternoon.  Very enjoyable game but quite a brain-burner!  They're selling it as Twilight Struggle with fancy lads in wigs but I don't think that's quite right.  There's a lot more to it.  Felt more like a mix of Labyrinth and an economic optimization style Euro.  (you can hear Mirth retching from here!)

They're on to you!  No wheat in the game.  You have your choice of much more exotic fare including such delights as: Fish!  Cotton!  Furs!  Sugar!  Tobacco!  Spices!   The mind boggles....

Mine's shelling out ridiculous amounts of cash for minis, resenting the fact that I have to paint them and I'm a mediocre painter at best, then having to find a way to store them and lug them around to play (they never survive the lugging intact), followed by overly long set up and take down times and some asshat who always wants to join with his 10 year old snot monster.

There’s Hanseatic Wheat Orgy for ya, right there.

I actually don't really like games.
