From the company that built the very successful pacific loco Tornado', latest progress on the 'P2' 2-8-2 loco 'Prince of Wales'. This was small class of powerful loco's designed by Sir Nigel Gresley specifically for the LNER (London and North Eastern Railway) to run between Edinburgh and Aberdeen.

That is only one of about 4 'new build' projects going on at present. Steam hauled rail tours is big business.
This is another good one;

Yeah, but the UK has to import coal to run all these steam engines for tourists because they shut down ALL coal mining in the country.

is the length of time between "events" just b/c those things take that long to do w/ the time the guys have available?
Or are they just waiting for funding to catch up for each next step they take?

Well done to Pete Waterman and the team for getting into the Guinness Book of Records. The worlds largest portable model railway layout at 208ft.
