Warlock 2 is one of my most played games with 381 hours on the clock, but to get the most out of, I would recommend picking up all the DLC and then the 'renaissance' workshop mod.

Thanks bawb, I will do that. Maybe those DLC are on sale. I'll check to see if any were downloaded. Funny thing is I've played it a few hours and can't say there's much of a difference other than the world structure/set-up.

Being fair, I tend to play it sandbox mode, with the largest map and a lot of opponents. It gets better as you go on, as they system of unit perks and buffs that you can get seem never ending. Add in hero recruitment and artefacts, plus magic research and you will realise the depth of the game. As I say, it gets better the deeper you go.

I think I have 133 hours in Warlock 1 and have put in 5 or so hours on 2 so far. I'm not having too much fun with the 'normal' mode in 2 and have been playing with the Sandbox mode, too. The new monsters are interesting. Found a red dragon but haven't pushed my luck with him yet.  ;D

I actually have over 600 hours on Warlock I. For me, definitely sandbox mode is the way to go, and, as I say, with all the DLC and that workshop mod I mentioned, its becomes a whole new game. The unit progression system is one of the best I've ever seen in any similar game.

Let me know if you want to play it H2H on Steam :-)

That would be great if we could get another multi-player game going with you, MD, and whomever else. Not sure who else has 2, but if not yeah I'm definitely interested in a game, Bob.  :bigthumb:

Never did buy Warlock II... is it that different from I?
Is the mod you speak of on Steam workshop?

Yes to both questions, Vance. You do however need all the DLC to be able to run the workshop mod. I picked' em all up in a sale when they were really cheap ( a bit like me).
