You wanna be an admin? Please say, "Yes".

Well played.

Like you're going off on safari for months to find one...methinks it's but mere steps away. ;)

If giant, alien cats do not intervene I will fight The Battle of Albuera 1811. It just arrived from White Dog Games and is almost ready to go. This one is touted as the first entry in their "A Lines of Battle Game" series. I like White Dog Games stuff so far and I look forward to trying this!

It's an interesting design that I've not yet had a chance to poke at.

I don't know about Mike's copy, but mine had one of the wilder odors I've ever had from a game...something in the counter-making process I imagine.

The layout is inspired by Simmons' two classics "Bonaparte at Marengo" and "Napoleon's Triumph" with irregularly-shaped spaces formed of "approaches" that are used to regulate movement and combat and allow for terrain.

As I say, I haven't had a chance to go at it and I'm interested to hear your thoughts, Mike.

I think it is the counters that cause the odor. Don't Tread on Me was the same way.
The area "approaches" concept looks interesting.

I set it up, but we didn't end up playing it. We'll give it another try soon.

Like Hollandspiele, White Dog uses Blue Panther for print on demand. The inks haven't really cured when they ship the games so they tend to be pretty pungent.

I actually don't really like games.

Play from a little drinkers with a wargaming problem con I attended in Sydney a few weeks ago:

Crusader scenario from DAK2. This was a learning game for all of us, we kept it set up for the whole weekend and subbed in and out while playing other games:

Upfront. My first time playing this, it was great fun:

Triumph and Tragedy. Our late night, boozy game. We'd just started the war when we ran out of booze time (Fingers added for effect):

Maori Wars. Pretty easy mechanics and lots of chaos (finger for scale):

Played six person game of Bolt Action this evening.  Eastern Front 1941 scenario. Germans held the objectives at the end. Most interesting unit on the table was a Soviet Army dog mine anti-tank team.

After my retirement party on March 30th with an entire pig and beer - I can put stuff back on my gaming table.  Probably going to set up Mansions of Madness and play it with my wife as the first game up.

you don't share... do you?!  :2funny:

...have fun, enjoy your retirement (... soon.) - お疲れ様です!!

The Dark Sands: War in North Africa looks intriguing as heck. Unfortunately my game table is too small to handle it.
