What's your unpopular wargaming opinion that gets the rest of the room riled up?

Computer wargames don't need clippers at all. Just a dongle.

Theater command games should not have production rules.  (That is at the level of Grand Strategy)

Star Fleet Battles ain't that hard. {The rules, that is-- beating a skilled opponent? That's hard.}

Dental Floss may NOT be used to check LOS in Squad Leader games. Especially if it's already been used.  :nope:

Consider your legs to be well and truly officially slapped  >:(

When you eventually get off yer arse and come up here, I will teach you the error of your ways! (includes tea and hobnobs).

Uh OH! UCG You've gotten the FULL -On Tea & Hobnob treatment.  Just the Hobnobs break most men.  :biggrin:

Actually way back there, all there was were board games and Squad Leader was one of my favorites along with some of the add-ons. War & Peace, Panzerblitz, Third Reich, Waterloo was my first board wargame. It was really hard to find almost anyone in my little town to play with. This was back in the 70's and suddenly war wasn't too cool anymore, not like in the 60's, so I didn't get a lot of time in any of the games. But I still miss those days, nothing like opening a new box and.... :dreamer:

I think UCG has too much piss, vinegar, and chips in him to be swayed into our camp  ;D

-Unboxing videos are a waste of time.

-Twilight Struggle is not a wargame.

-Counter clipping is a waste of gaming time.

And if you want to do anything about it, I'll be outside.

He has his redeeming features, though. A painter of mini's par excellence, for one thing. ;)

I laboured long and hard with ATS a few years ago, and it does have some good idea's, but the rulebook was hard work to get through as it was not very well laid-out. I think I remember reading somewhere that they had been re-written it, but I had lost all interest in it by then. Also, the plain maps with lots of overlays , whilst being a good idea, was a pain in practise.
