depending on your phone browser, you can sometimes attach them to a post, but you'll probably need to reduce the file size first

Otherwise, you'd need to share from a 3rd-party site
who do i talk to about that? lol
i hate sharing from 3rd party sites. will facebook work, or does it need to be like a dedicated photo hosting site?

Facebook will work w/ 2 caveats

1. when you get the image link from FB, you can't just open the image to view on Facebook and copy the URL, b/c that's the URL to the FB image "theater" view.  You have to right-click/ctrl-click on the image and "copy image address" or "get image address" and use that URL

2. FB will regularly refactor their image links, which changes the URLs to those images. Officially, it's b/c they are needing to regularly add to the overall format of the URLs to keep up with all the photos people upload, but there's a lot of folks that think FB does it to intentionally 'break' all those shared images and force you to view them back on FB

Imgur is good for image hosting as an alternative to FB and the URLs don't change

i have 2 games/scenarios to play out for my game idea.

it will first be the battle for marsh island
https://www.google.com/maps/place/Marsh+Island/@29.5578091,-92.0101171,11z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x862307935e8a97b5:0x303650bd2431765f!8m2!3d29.5675193!4d-91.851343

and then the battle for vermillion bay.

attackers are trying to set up a quick shore battery to support their vessels as they move into the bay, and then to eventually land troops.

the defenders got word of the enemy approaching marsh island and are scrambling to deploy ground units to stop the attackers.

any boats crippled/sunk in first scenario, cannot be used in the second.

winner of the first scenario gets to set up a shore battery for use in the second scenario.

battle of vermillion bay will be an amphibious landing. armed vessels will be escorting long boats with infantry ashore to attack the defender's town.

i'm guessing this is a side hustle for the person behind it, but this site has pretty good customer service
http://www.thevirtualarmchairgeneral.com/505-houstons%20guns%20&%20fittings.htm

you make your order they ask for you to let them know if it doesn't show up in like 5-7 days.

you get your order and it comes with a nice little thank you note reiterating their email and a phone number for questions.

also, while not quite the sizes i want for my green/brown water games they do have some good ship/boat models for sale.
one is a rear paddle wheeler that would work for my time frame, but i'm not looking to manhandle a boat thats 13" long lol.

they also have what looks like early 20th century subchasers/patrol vessels and small cargo vessels that end up like 16-20"

Customer service for those guys really is good.

Every emailed question I’ve sent them has gotten a reply within 12 hours, and have always been straight forward answers even if they likely didn’t think the answer would make me happy (ie no ship fittings or guns will be made in 28mm 25mm is all we’ll have)

this has gone by the wayside as project for me a bit, but i've come back to it, and rather than an alternate history game, just going to set it in my own universe that is very similar to the real world (i.e. no dragons, magic, or obscenely steampunkish tech)

the world anvil page i created to build the world and what i have so far.
map was created using the don jon fractal world generator.
https://www.worldanvil.com/w/orbis-johnpjones1775

still having problems finding ship and boat models in the size/scale i want.

thanks. since i'm having troubles finding models in sizes and eras i like i'm trying my hand at 3D printing for myself. as well now. finding weapons and the like has been easy so i'll just order those.
