Question for anyone who has played this.
I'm sketchy on the rules for soft targets - they say
Each Light Armor target type has a 5 or 6 on a gold circle, the gold circle indicating it always has an Armor value of 1. But the 5 or 6 is its Save value
So that covers light armour vehicles.
For Soft targets it states
The gold background circle with an ‘S’ indicates that the unit is a Soft Target, whether a vehicle or other unit. Vehicular Soft Target units have a vehicle image on the counter. Non-vehicular Soft Targets have a NATO symbol and are also called Troops.
Soft Targets do not have an Armor die value but use the Defensive Bonus dice as determined by the terrain they occupy (check the TEC for the number of dice).
The way I read this, soft targets would not get a die roll for a save when they are in clear terrain as they only get the Defensive Bonus of the terrain they occupy.
Is that correct?
