Question for anyone who has played this.

I'm sketchy on the rules for soft targets - they say

Quote
Each Light Armor target type has a 5 or 6 on a gold circle, the gold circle indicating it always has an Armor value of 1. But the 5 or 6 is its Save value
So that covers light armour vehicles.

For Soft targets it states
Quote
The gold background circle with an ‘S’ indicates that the unit is a Soft Target, whether a vehicle or other unit. Vehicular Soft Target units have a vehicle image on the counter. Non-vehicular Soft Targets have a NATO symbol and are also called Troops.

Soft Targets do not have an Armor die value but use the Defensive Bonus dice as determined by the terrain they occupy (check the TEC for the number of dice).

The way I read this, soft targets would not get a die roll for a save when they are in clear terrain as they only get the Defensive Bonus of the terrain they occupy.

Is that correct?

You have that all correct. Soft targets in the open are dead targets....

Thanks. It seemed brutal - but a jeep against a T-80 - there's no chance.

Unless said jeep has TOW and see the T-80 first.

Here at ACD, we all pee the same color.

Yeah - but once the TOW has fired, the jeep is a sitting duck. There's no movement after fire in this game.

And a smart smart Jeep w/TOW will not be sitting in the open….

Indeed - but that smart, smart jeep is only as smart as it's commander - and it's commander was a bit of an arse!  ;D

Also - they are pretty useless. Roll and fail for ammo reload and they've got one shot and then they're pointless. Almost always (for me) two shot wonders.

Why would you say that? Who wouldn't want to drive around with Crazy Bob and some explosives and rocket propellant? For a weapon that takes roughly 300 years between when you pull the trigger and it decides to launch? And then requires you to be absolutely still while it draws a "shoot here" arrow pointing at you?

Literally no downside to this thing!

Man!!! I had an M1 Abrams firing at a BMP in the open. The M1 had it's HQ with it - so it's FP went from 4 to 6 dice. It was also at point blank range and so only needed 4 or better for a hit - from 6 dice.

This is it's roll
