A very nice look at the game through the lens of recent events, as discussed by Brian Train and Volko Ruhnke with Liz Davidson on her podcast.

They do a very nice job of explaining how they designed what they did, in the time in which they did it, and what worked in the game, but didn't necessarily work in real life, and vice versa.

Don't go down a political road here - they certainly don't on the podcast - but focus on how different ideas were implemented in the game.
