Title: Front Toward Enemy
Post by: judgedredd on June 05, 2020, 05:28:03 PM
Strange title for a board game.

I took receipt of this today and will post an unboxing review tomorrow

It's named based on the front of the claymore mine (pictured) which was widely used in Vietnam.  Plus people in the US military still use those claymore mine jokes all the time.

Aaaaah. You know I used claymores when I was in the army - but I don't recall that on them. Knowing squaddies though, I know it must've been on there though  :2funny:

Ok - here you go. Here's what's in the box.

The back of the box with some standard blurb

A couple of dice

A manual. It's decent enough. Good satin style paper quality. Nicely laid out rules with some example images. No index though. The rules themselves seem easy enough. Well explained with references to relevant parts of the manual. They seem easy enough that I should get this on the table this week.

Some replacement counters for misprinted ones in the box

Player Aid Card - side 1
Good card stock. You get two of these.

A selection of pre-defined missions - all on decent card stock

The counters. They're small - but there's not too much on them so they're readable

Sheet 2 - front - VC, civilians and system counters

Sheet 2 - back

Sheet 3 - front

The maps - 2 and on paper. Looking at the missions, you can combine these maps.

So there you are. Components are decent for the money. Rules look fairly straight forward and I'm looking forward to getting it on the table. All counters have been punched and clipped and I finished my World at War 85 game - so everything is ready....just waiting for some spare time...
