Title: "Dogs of War" from TRL Games
Post by: bayonetbrant on November 10, 2020, 11:36:34 PM
This is the North flank companion too LT60M and the next game in their World War 3 series.

It covers the Brits up on the northern sector and the North German plain.

Much like LT60M, it is 100% the kind of game I would normally be interested in, but I just don't know when I would ever get it to the table, and that's a lot of money to spend on an expensive shelf ornament

Right now they're just taking reservations for pre-orders, so I might end up changing my mind. But I missed LT60M so I don't know but I would want to take the plunge on this and not have them to link together if I ever get around to putting them on a table.

It looks gorgeous though!

I am on the preorder list.  I really like LT60M.  It's a bit of a slog, but they build in command delays and the need to plan by going with short 3-hour turns.  It's a really good system.

But...

I have LT60M on my table right now.  Like I said, it can be a bit of a slog--rewarding when understood, but slow.  I am ambivalent about finishing the scenario and am considering cleaning it up now, even though I wanted to play the longer campaign game next.  I have a real hankering for some Flying Colors and then diving into A Time for Trumpets.

:ticked off:    (I really wanted a copy, but it was for sale at a very bad time for me financially)

They mentioned on BGG that they will probably reprint it in 2021.
