Aye but they only hate each other. You're safe if you're not catholic or protestant. Millwall fans take on ANYONE.

It's funny that I got that reference. My biggest regret was not being able to attend a football game while I was over there, but I was well away from the season. :(

Where were you boys sitting?

In addition to continuing my Stellaris campaign, I'm also going to try and get some time in with the new/updated demo for Great Houses of Calderia (though that may get pushed back/spread out over the course of the next week).  In addition, the 20th anniversary for Medieval Total War (ugh, that makes me feel my age a bit :buck2: ) has me in the mood to dive back into that as well.

There will be Anno 1800 and some DW2 just to keep it fresh in my mind

I find it wonderfully rewarding playing management/colony games - watching the town grow and the people go about there business asking for luxuries and providing them with such is a weirdly rewarding experience

At the moment I’m thinking that’s also my enjoyment and experience with dw2 - the empire grows, I research things and give my planets rewards - there’s no sign of war on the horizon and the AI is also doing its own thing - there does need to be some violence soon and I may be the cause of that

Got a couple friends coming over today.  We're going to give UBOOT a whirl followed by some Sniper Elite.

Then I gotta go get a tetanus shot because some bitch let her dog off leash on the hiking trail and it took a nibble on my ankle.

Did you file a report with your local animal control? They may want to quarantine the dog for a bit to prove it does not have rabies. That'll teach the owner to be more careful next time.

Nice. My U-Boot original Kickstarter is still in the shrink. I did play it when it first came out (with some buddies--and one of their copies), but I've tried to get my family to agree to play with me, to no avail.

Completely forgot about Rome II, incidentally.  With the 1.3.1 version of the DEI mod now out, it's an excellent time to dive back into this one as well.

There's also play-testing Lord of Rigel:  Work on that one has been excruciatingly slow, but still progressing.  Devs just released a new version a few days ago, so am checking out that too.

(Gah!  Too many games!)

You're preaching to the choir, geek.  Second only to exploration, growing my town/colony/empire is my favorite aspect of strategy games.  Being able to build something is always fun.  (I loved Legos as a kid. :)

Weekly D&D game online (Fantasy Grounds). Not a fan of the WotC book/adventures but another guy offered to DM and give me a break from those duties.

Nah, the woman nervously yelled "He's had his shots" while struggling to leash the mutt.  Then she promptly buggered off back down the hill.  He dog as off leash and went after another woman's dog (on-leash).  Nice little melee ensued in the middle of the path.  I tried to pass around it on the outside and got chomped.

3 hour wait in the hospital to get a tetanus shot.  Fun times.

It was a bit of a bust.  I played as the navigator.  The guy who was commanding had played a few times before, but never as captain.  The guy running the app had never played before.  Neither really knows anything about submarines.  We ran into a merchant and an escort late at night but the angles were all wrong.  They were coming straight at us so we had to dive.  The escort gave us a few depth charges as it passed and did some damage.  It never bothered sticking around thankfully.

We wasted a watch just repairing and got underway again.  We conducted our first mission, weather report off Scapa Flow and then headed off to the coast of Norway to look for targets.  RNG hit us with a bunch of annoying mechanical problems and we'd used up most of our activations dealing with them.  Then we encountered a corvette escorting 3 tankers.  Captain decided we didn't have enough orders to dive and take the convoy on so he gambled on taking on the corvette with guns.  We lost...

Sniper Elite was fun but the defenders went 0-4.  It's much harder to play as the defenders when you have more than one player controlling them.  Lots of discord over what the best course of action would be to pin down and eliminate the sniper.  End result is that the sniper player has a much easier time slipping through the cracks and completing their missions.

Damn SDR. Sounds like she needs her shots too. Did you at least get to hit-on the Hot ER Nurse?

Has definitely been fun to be back on the other side of the DM screen.

The ravages of time are finally catching up with me - after a wonderfully chilled game of KOH2 I turned to Atilla 1212 for some Geonoan action - nope

Played the broken arrow demo - nope

Started CKIII just to press some buttons and look around - I sat there smiling and wriggling my toes with delight - it felt new and awesome and comfortable and familiar at the same time - can’t wait to sink into this

My point been it’s slow paced, relaxed chilled out gaming this weekend - a glass of something by the keyboard
