So, after getting all moist and excited over Broken Arrow, the not Eugen Eugen game, Eugen themselves go with this

Wargame 4 so to speak, cold war shenanigans done new. Conspiracy theorists say that it is to challenge the new Broken Arrow game, that game been made by various ex Eugen employees - whatever the furore this looks great as does broken arrow

Released on early access today - have watched some lets plays - looks great - the urge to buy is strong

Units seem to rush towards their target at warp speed. Looks rather silly to me.
I have deep respect for people who can command and control units at opposite ends of the map at such high speed.

I think it’s the first priority of the next patch to adjust the speed - someone has worked out the abrams are moving at approx 200 mph

I hit 64mph in mine one time, but yeah, even with the jet engine you've got in that thing, you're not moving 70t fast enough to outrun a Ferrari...

Admittedly I only watched about three minutes of a video, but this looks like any other game in the Wargame series. What's new?

not combat loaded

in fact, it was pretty stripped-back with little more than our gear and a bunch of instrumentation on it (not even the front fuel tanks full) during the Apache Longbow test back in the 90s.

we were also on a pretty flat dirt road for most of it

They’re dragging airland battle and red dragon into the SD 2 era - line of sight tools, quality of life improvements
