Forbidden lands from free league publishing just showed up this morning, so I'm reading that one at the soccer desk today

7 Wonders 2nd edition showed up here. The wife wanted to play that one.

I don't have that one yet. How is it compared to the Hunters/Hunted?

I wonder if Gregory Smith is working on a Pacific version. If he does I hope he includes the Dutch subs. They were quite active in the Dutch East Indies early in the war.

He did...Silent Victory.

Compass is re-issuing the game, adding the IJN expansion to the mix. Not sure if they are having Dutch or any other Allied nationality other than U.S. subs, but it might be worth a check.

I couldn't find anything called 'Silent Victory' at Compass Games. Do you mean 'Silent War'? That's more of a 'command the whole fleet' style game.

The Hunters/Hunted/BeneathTheMed games from GMT are more of 'sub simulation' style games where you command a single sub sort of like a naval version of Compass' 'America Bomber' and related titles.

EDIT: N/M. I found it back at GMT. Nothing about the IJN expansion though.

No idea about the others. This one features all the usual sub stuff, sort of difficult because RN presence is pretty robust, and has all the cool special operations of the italians ( SLC human torpedoes, command raids, etc ) and convoys to malta interceptions.

I like it. Has two themes I like. Naval and Mediterranean and a less shown nationality focus.

Sorry, I should have been more specific - I thought I named it wrong, ha.

The original SV was published by Consim Press, but GMT got the rights.

I DID get mixed up, sorry. Silent War by Compass has an IJN expansion.

Been a while since I've bothered with SW. Silent War is a solo game but it puts you in charge of the U.S. Submarine Fleet - Pacific during WW2. Silent Victory is a solo game where you command a lone U.S. submarine, not the whole fleet. :D

My adventures in Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes continues.  Currently playing as the Empire of Resoln (dear gods, death magic is fantastic), and plotting to take over the world with my spider armies.

I've been playing a little Astra Exodus as well, but I'm finding it hard to get into.  Not in terms of it being difficult to learn (it's fairly easy to pick up and play), but in that it's not really grabbing me.  The game currently feels rather shallow, with colonies having few building options other than ships.  It seems a bit much (or not enough), even with combat being a focus for this game.  I don't want to give up on it, though.

I'm also feeling an itch for some historical Total War.  Thrones of Britannia sounds particularly appealing right now, although the siren song of Rome II is a near-constant siren song in my ear...

On my 3rd attempt at Field Commander Alexander. Normally not a fan of games that are designed to be solo games, but this has been a fun little game.  Quick playing, easy rules and difficult to win.

Expecting/Hoping for a quiet weekend. So, time to catch-up on a little Rome 2 with the DEI Mod. Here Nasamones, after deciding to side with Egypt instead of Rome in their struggle, see the Roman Army approaching to teach them the error of their ways. Have a great weekend Dragoons!
