I completely agree with points 1, 2, 3, and 4. Number 5, not so much; however, ymmv depending upon the game or scenario. The last point about "Nobody reads the instructions" made me smile. The Board Game Minimalist obviously never met an ASL or OCS player.  :)

I would suspect just by the nature of the name "Minimalist" that the author never got anywhere close to a proper wargame ;D

Yeah, my pocket edition of ASL rules is so beat up that I had to buy a second copy.
