- navigable rivers
- no builders
- hard cap/limit on how many settlers you're allowed to build = only allowed so many cities
- only 3 eras, advance eras by accumulating points via culture, etc.
- must change civilization at start of new era
- each civilization can only exist in one specific era
- only 5 players can play multiplayer for first two eras (8 players for third era)
- tech tree is much more simplified
- leaders now include historical individuals that were never leaders
- game runs on 10+ year old hardware and consoles
- crossplay enabled

Seems very similar to Humankind....  ???
Need to read more on it.

I never played Humankind - partly out of loyalty to Civ (I don't need that many 4X civ builders) - but the commenter consensus on the YouTube video was "this looks like Humankind."

I guess my initial skepticism is:

I want my Civilization games to be evolutionary, not revolutionary. At first glance this seems like too much of the latter.

You can change civilizations for each age.

It looks like you MUST change civilizations for each age since you can only choose from a couple at the start. The one thing I hate most about Humankind (and the one thing that keeps me from playing it) they decide put in Civ7. I agree with TTC, keep making Civilization better not different. I had planned to prepurchase this as soon as it was available but with this and the $70US price tag I can't bring myself to do it. Hopefully more info on the game will drop that changes my mind.   :-\

I haven't looked at any VII stuff.  I trust both of your opinions.  Not a good start.

Not a fan of changing civs. Kinda defeats the purpose of Civilization and its SIX ITERATIONS thus far. ;D

Like TTC said - be evolutionary, NOT revolutionary.

I have not played Humankind but after learning more about Civ VII I am more interested in it. I like the descriptions of the new systems and it looks like the art style has been toned down a bit.

Based on what your all saying, I can say that Civ 7 is a no go for me.  Someone needs to bring back Call to Power.

Here at ACD, we all pee the same color.

I would not abandon it yet... lots of time to hear what is actually happening not just nerd rage guesses...

Only played VI and I really didn't get into it that much.

Yes, it is possible Civ7 will be good. But yeah, a modern Call to Power would be awesome!  :applause:
