I really want to get this game. I can pick it up for £35 with £10 delivery - but it looks like it requires two players. The game really draws me to it because it's the Ia Drang valley.

I have two player games - and with some "honesty", I can play them fairly well but this has hidden units for the VC and I'm not sure how I'd overcome that.

Does anyone have this game and played solo? Is it actually possible?

The only Vietnam game I have is LnL Forgotten Heros:Vietnam and I'm not a huge fan of the LnL rules.

I know I've seen some folks with blog posts about playing it solo. I found this post from BGG about that, with some ideas for dealing with the hidden movement aspect:

I actually don't really like games.

I don't know about this one, but have you looked into "Brothers By My Side" from LNLP?

It plays solo

It is a great game with a fantastic map. I have no idea about solo play. The price seems very reasonable though.

Thanks. I had looked at some of the returned threads on BGG and the ones I checked out either said they were looking into making it solo or that it simply wasn't. As far as I could tell, the scenarios could be played solo - but the campaigns couldn't.

Silver Bayonet has been on my radar for some time, too, mainly because the price is so reasonable here as well.

This landed home a week or so ago. I obviously did the usual...opened it, looked at all the pretty stuff, read part of the manual and then put it all back in the box until later
