Just played Velker and unfortunately for him I won my first game. Lost the first three, tied the last (should have won that one but ain't that ALWAYS the case? lol), then won this one. It was quite a slugfest and a lot of fun, so my thanks to Velker.

I'm putting a hit out on Natures Wraths War Dancers. Even after knocking half his team off the field, the War Dancers were unstoppable. Lets just say that the best defense against them looking back, is a defense in depth. Because once they leap over top of you, you ain't catching them. Oh they can pass the ball pretty good as well.

Dalinore - I don't know why but Steam keeps signing me out of chat so it appears as if I'm offline and nobody can send me messages, even though I AM online. It's aggravating.
FYI I have something major I'm doing tomorrow morning and am spending most of the day today preparing for it. Once the morning is over tomorrow I should be free the rest of the week to play our game. Let me know what your availability is. Thanks!

Yeah, that team was a mistake. I conceded the match as he put half my team into the ground (which was a sight to behold), which I did not realize would mean no money. Which means, no replacement players. So I screwed up all the way around.

Very understandable! Apparently we can invite a new team to replace them --- so you could set up a new team? (Seems weird to add a new team now, but maybe the game meant "invite a new team to the league" not "to the tourney".)

I did. Went with a new Orc team. Thanks Jim for allowing me to do that.
I realized the errors of my tactics too with the Lizardmen team...for starters, don't put your narrow butt Skinks on the line with Dwarves. I should have stood them off a good distance when they had the ball, but the issue with that is he can cage very effectively and make it nearly impossible to bring him down. The lizardmen would have to rely more on him making a mistake though I'm certain I'm missing a lot of the nuances of an agile team.
I went with WAY too many Skinks and should have done about five of them with six Sauruses. Even so, Dalinore got some amazing rolls (explosion after explosion after explosion). He even did a one-die roll against my Saurus and got a 'splosion that put the big guy on his butt AND KO'd him. :D Even if I had that composition above, he still would have hurt me badly.
Bottom line, agility teams are not for me as my skill level is the pits, so best to go with bashy. When all else fails I can try to murdalize the other team.

More like I failed almost every re-roll when I needed a 2+ or 3+.
I think I made 1 successful re-roll all game.
That I was the victim for every kick off as well as the weather didn't help either.
It was a good game...apart from RNG hating on me as usual.

You got a good roll on that long pass late in the game!.. But then I countered it with a good roll to dislodge the ball after.

True, I had 2 good rolls during the game. :)
It was the back to back double skulls->re-roll->double skulls plus the rolling 1s for go for it, re-roll a 1, that continued to happen.
It was a good game, don't get me wrong.
It is the total RNG hell, though, for me. I have the worst luck with die rolling, either by hand or virtual. All of my gamer buddies know it and often remark about it.
I even LOST a fan factor at the end.

Our game will be legendary...legendarily bad, lol. I am much the same in BB. The total number of 1's the game rolls for me are often more than all the other results combined.

Tuna and I had our match (3-1 me). The Skaven's speed definitely seems to give the slower Dwarves a bit of a challenge. The most interesting thing to happen was one of Tuna's players slipped on the pitch going for it and died! Thankfully, he had an apothecary re-roll!

Yeah, there was no way I was catching him, if he got past my line. Probably could've been 2-1 if I didn't 'reaction' click a patch that had two low percentage sucess dodges. Most of my 'mistakes' is clicking when I shouldn't.
I didn't know what Apothecary was for when I bought it, but I'm glad I did!

The league is starting to feel abandoned. I know BC and others are busy, but I would hate to see this thing die. Perhaps we can institute some sort of policy for turn length (e.g. 1 week)? Alternatively, maybe those that are willing to commit to a more regular schedule can start a side event in the ACD league?

B_C and I will be trying to do our game later this weekend when he's off work.

Boyer just handed me one of the worst whoopings I've ever taken in BB.
The score was only 1-0 and for much of the game Nuffle swung the luck back and forth, but in the final possession he stunned three of my players, knocked out two, injured two, and killed my thrower.
When the ball finally got round to me after that sequence I think I had two players standing on the field.
I now have the least valuable team in the tournament.
This can be a cruel, cruel game.
Good game to him, though!

Well, Tuna BLEW his first chance of a win in his game against JP. Laid a lot of hurt on his team, sideline was filled with his injured. Stole the ball in the final turns, my Dwarf lineman who got the ball only has a MA of 4, so with two full runs, I was on the 1 yard line. Being a lefty growing up in a right hand world, my eyes gravitate to the right hand side (I know this is wrong, I do catch myself at times, checking the left and paying attention). In my mind, I thought I had one turn left, so did not chance the extra die roll to get the ball in the Endzone. Lol.. chock it up to another of the many big blunders I've made in this league! :idiot2:.
Good game JP anyways!.. lol.. I shutdown Craig's computer, I should've uploaded screen shot of all the injured on the sideline!.

It was indeed an epic bloody tie, and in my heart Tuna will always have won that, he fully earned it. (And I've done the same myself, more than once: lost track of which turn column I should be watching and surprise the game's over! -- I've even lost a game or two that way.)
Whoever the heck I'm playing next can thank his dwarves, too, because some of the girls will be coming back maimed and others will have to skip a game. He also killed one of them outright, late in the game, though fortunately I was able to apothecary that one down to a broken leg (missing a game, no permanent damage).
Dwarves are just the worst for me to deal with.

I think we're approaching 1 month since the start of the current week of play. In the future, I would be in favor of some minimum commitment level for getting games in.

I'm trying but more often than not I have work around 12-16 hours per day between my day job and other commitments.
If I had known this was going to be my situation over the last few months, I would not have joined the league.

Ya, your situation is totally understandable. There are likely other people in your situation that might fit well for a casual league. I'd be interested in playing in that one too. Right now, though, it feels like I have to relearn my strategy every time I play since I only play in this league. Of course, I could just try playing in other rando leagues. I tried that, but it just isn't the same when there isn't a community that you know playing with you.

I'm hoping to play Celtic tonight. Tomorrow morning I'm doing some recording work but the rest of the weekend is surprisingly free (for now, lol). We should be able to wrap this up this weekend. I'll report back if anything blows up.
