It was indeed successful - ‘we have a country of our own’ said Mel Gibson once

As it turned out France, Castile and Aragon (Spain part 2 not viggo mortensen) hated them as much as I and joined in - I say joined in, I meant did all the hard work with their 90k infantry while my 7k got smushed by 20k Austrians once they got trapped in the canals and waterways of Antwerp and there was no path for retreat

For a brief moment we expanded the navy from 13 to 17 with captured ships but then the huge Burgundian navy left Picardy once it fell and the English Channel is littered with 10 Dutch ships which curiously coincides with a documentary I watched this week about a Dutch ship sunk off England in 1672 and found almost intact, I was just 230 years early

I’m going to take a while to rebuild and during that time will set up a spy ring in Utrecht to fabricate a claim and they’re next on the ‘things I need to create and unite Holland’ 

I’m pretty sure the HRE are going to ask for their land back so we’ll see what happens next

Still on the path to forming the Netherlands

I am the most hated country in Europe with even England and Scotland declaring me a rival, however i still have France, Aragon and now Denmark as allies

The missions to become the Netherlands are all about acquiring the land around us without trying to upset the HRE - i have taken Utrecht and vassalised them with the intention of Diplo Annexing them soon which will not increase my hostility with the HRE, bit of a rebuild again and then we will try and get Friesland on the northern coast - also allies of Denmark - i dont know which way theyll fall but i have a much bigger navy and can park that off the Danish coast and prevent any foot units getting past to bolster friesland

My leader William is a bit piss poor in combat, as is the heir - but its not like CK3 where you can just bump them off

Market places and churches are also been built - primarily to get the money flowing in and increase the clergys opinion of me - there at 29% at the minute and little pockets of angry church goers keep popping up for a fight

Fresia and Gronigen join Holland, Denmark chose the side of the independent states but with 44k French troops fighting with me the AI galantly blocked the sea and any land crossing the Danes could make to join in - it was over quickly, the 2 new states have been cored, received their compulsory Church and Marketplace update.

To create the Netherlands i need Gelre, East Fresia and Antwerp. The first two will be easy despite them been in an anti aggression coalition against me with 10 other independent German states - i just need to make friends with a few of the most powerful of these and itll start to fall like a house of cards

Antwerp is a problem - it was ceded to England when they went to war with Burgundy a few years back, also England has warned me not to start any wars in any neighbouring provinces with them which includes Gelre - so i need the 100 years war to kick off to distract England - once i have created The Netherlands i have a cunning plan for england, more cunning than mr cunning the fox with a degree in cunning...... from cunning town

Hmm.  I'm guessing some good old-fashioned 'geek-brand skullduggery is in the works?    We shall see, I suppose.
