From what I'm seeing, do start a cross platform game you have to start it as a network game first, then you can convert it to a cloud game.  Ping me when you have a few, and we'll test it

I still really like this game but...as with others...I am pretty er, unskilled at it. Playing as Persia now and both Carthage and Egypt are pummeling me :/

I've seen it repeatedly said that if you don't maintain rough military parity with other empires, the AI *will* take advantage and/or punish you for it.  It also seems to happen somewhat often where the AI likes to ally with at least one other empire before going to war with someone -- which makes sense, when you think about it. 

(So perhaps the lesson is find a "war buddy" of your own?  Hmm.)

A career or college level course could be made from learning the nuances of Old World. Right now I would fail at both. I fared better as Assyria against Babylonia in my previous game. Now as Persia I am lagging far behind Carthage, Egypt and Greece. Persia is a power with serious military potential but you wouldn't know that from my playthrough :/ Even with my craptacular showing I still enjoy the game a lot. I hope my enjoyment can lead me to getting better.
