can we not just get back the fun thought of US privateers chasing down Chinese fishing fleets harassing Filipino fishermen, and blockading Chinese barrier islands 200mi from the shore?

Random acts of genius and other inspirations of applied violence.

You really should start a dedicated thread for that.

Both the SG and SG: Atlantis series are on Prime. Does it matter which you watch first? I might try it again though I decided to get through all of the Clone Wars animated series, and then Rebels.

SG Atlantis is a spin off of SG, so you'll want to start with SG first.

Here at ACD, we all pee the same color.

I figured as much, but wasn't sure if there was more enjoyment out of Atlantis if you've already watched the original SG series.

Don't think I've tried Farscape, though I did try Andromeda, which wasn't too bad.

Ugg! Andromeda, another awful show I forgot about. There's still another I can't remember. It had this elongated, stupid looking ship that had to go through jump gates to get anywhere. Unless there weren't any jump gates, then it just went anywhere anyway.  ::)

Farscape, and the follow-up mini-series, Peacekeeper Wars, is superb Sci-fi. Its a great pity that it was dumped in favour of SG. It was vastly superior to SG, IMHO.

The only thing that came close as Firefly - Serenity.

We have all the seasons of both on DVD.

SG1 actually started years before Farscape and they ran concurrently. After Farscape's cancellation both Ben Browder and Claudia Black joined SG1 as regulars for the last two seasons. During the 200th SG1 episode there is a hilariously cringy mashup scene of the two shows.

Just want to take a moment to applaud y'all for making me ask how the hell this went from U.S. privateers versus the Chinese Navy, to flippin' SG.

Carry on.  :applause:

You'll forgive me if I pat myself on the back as I am in need of it at the moment.  ;)
