CA did an interview with Dr. Tim Gosling, their AI Technical Director for Total War.  It was interesting to read his thoughts on the challenges of developing an AI that's "good" versus "fun.

I give CA and Gosling props for doing that interview after all the shellacking that TW AI has received for the last 20+ years.
