Are we hitting what you're looking for?

Anything we ought to be adding / keeping a different eye on?

Anything you think we should cut?  Why?

Any sites / sources out there we should absolutely be keeping an eye on?

What do you think of how much we're branching outside of the key wargaming topics, to include occasional RPG or non-wargame-tabletop content?

As a reminder, we don't track / report on "in development" or "eventual release announcements"
HumptyFratz Games is pleased to announce their new RTS "CircusDeathBear 4: The Unicycling" is now in development for release in Q2 2024
So what?  We can't do much with that between now and 2024 so how does this help the reader?

(we do occasionally break this rule a bit in the 4X section as the dev diaries are released for games in beta, as they are reporting on changes to the games)

There's a Weekly Newsday Topic?  :o  Just kidding. I read it almost every week and find it's just about right. I always find something I had no idea was in development or had been started. Thanks for keeping us in the loop Brant.  :bigthumb:

No more unboxing videos.

Well, those aren't exactly a part of the TN column, but we do list them with the rest of what we published over the past week.

What is it you don't like about them?

Folks have always complained about unboxing vids/galleries as "filler" and when they become the primary kind of article or content then that's a fair criticism.  We didn't do very many for a long time after we opened shop here, but we experimented with a once-a-month "unboxing day" where we collected them all into a single day and had a huge number of hits that day.  Tried it again the next month, and same thing.

Obvs someone likes it!

Every now & then, a meal assembled from a half-dozen appetizer plates is perfectly fine.  You don't want it all the time, but occasionally it's nice to just casually nibble your way thru the meal  :peace:

They just seem void of any meaningful content.  There's no info I can glean from them that I can't get simply by looking at a photo of the components.  Their main purpose seems to me to be a way for people to snag a free copy of a game.

I don't play board games anymore but I do enjoy seeing the latest and how they've changed from what I remember years ago.

One thing they are good for is checking out the visual/component quality of the game in question before you buy.  And if I'm supposed to be getting the games I unbox for free then I must be doing something very, very wrong.

I would appreciate the section on lucrative side hustles I could engage in so that I can afford to actually read TN and click all the super helpful links you give ......

Seriously I enjoy the content and how its broken up. Some categories I take more time to read than others but that's due to personal preference and since you have it divided up its easy to skim over the ones that don't interest me as much.  My only suggestion would be to have more pictures/visuals to help breakup the wall of text. Some weeks you have more than others and I'm sure its added work but it always grabs my attention more.

Not meant as a personal dig against you BB.  More against some of the more prominent Youtubers who brag about getting "review" copies and then do a lazy unboxing video with a brief, superficial overview of the gameplay and call it a day.

Oh no, I didn't take it personal, no worries. I'm not huge fan of unboxing videos myself (I've been think about way to improve mine).

Putting huge, giant spiders in the boxes might help. Just sayin'.

There are a few folks I watch for "unboxings." Mostly I watch videos on miniatures and occasionally a board game. The ones I watch I enjoy because they go through the various sculpts and compare them to similar era/scale miniatures from other companies. They are actually informative when you have to make an online purchase. Otherwise, like SDR said, just not worth the time.

Granted, I already don't watch many unboxing videos anyway, but if you're trying to drop that number to zero...

OK. Point taken. How about cute, little smiling spiders then?
