Looks like it's getting flak for not having complete AI at release (which the developer was open about before). Not an issue for me but I can't tell if you can play it hotseat on the same computer.

Well you can play single player only, ie without AI, so I would assume you could use that method.

I messed around with some of the tutorials today. It seems like a solid port of the boardgame, and I only had one major bug issue.

Gee...I don't know. Do we have any people around here that have experience with Napoleoic games?

That is certainly a conundrum.
I almost bought it the other day...like I need more games on Steam or otherwise.

I couldn't win the board game playing against humans, it'd be a real embarrassment if I couldn't win playing against myself.

It looks quite good - worth keeping an eye on to see how it develops.
..or you could buy this version......

Yup, fairly typical, sadly.
Just as well I don't want it, really.

I bought it and have made it through the tutorial so far.
I like it, and I loved the old game, too. I have, but still haven't punched, the new edition.

When AH released the board game, a number of our group felt the game mechanics revolved too much about the superior generals of the French. Too much seemed to follow the script of the French win here, then they win tbere. You had to follow a similar historical path.
Anyone else had that feeling?

Interesting take. Same could be said, I imagine, of Third Reich or World In Flames.
Take Poland, take the West, invade Russia, repeat. Would be interesting to hear about diverging paths.
