Mentioned in Dispatches, S3E10 – The Cold War. No, the original one.

Cap’n Darwin and Dr Sterrett are here to save the day!  They join Brant & Mirth to talk about all sorts of Cold War wargaming, including a discussion of whether or not the Cold War ever really ended.

Specific games?  Well, the expected arrival of W@W’85 inspired this whole episode when we put the original schedule together, but we also talk about Air & Armor, games that ‘came true,’ Assault, the First Battle series, lighting maps on fire, multiple games with “NATO” in the title, the MBT series, where you draw the lines on what a “Cold War” game is, and GMT’s new Red Storm.

We covered a lot of ground but kept our feet firmly planted on it, and so we barely scratched the surface of possible Cold War wargaming, especially naval wargames, most air combat games, and the 1970s-80s SPI classics.
