I don't get it. I plainly asked for someone to provide me with the information whether or not the warcrimes committed by the German forces which the players have agency over in this game are mentioned or represented in any way (I have no clue where you get from that I was talking about Nazi warcrimes or demanding that they had to include these aspects, honestly). It is a) directly related to the GAME and b) factual HISTORY, both of which is the core of the medium we are talking about here, isn't it? There is nothing "political" as in "provoking" in this question. A mod came in to make it an issue. I am sorry, but if that is the stance and these inherent aspects of games can't be asked about, I will again choose to abstain from interacting.

I am aware of the rules and I don't see them violated. Thanks for making this a political discussion, I guess.

Hey Jan,

In this case, there's 2 things at play here

1.  The issue of nazi war crimes are a non-factor in a game that doesn't include them at all, since this particular game is set in WW1.  That does not in any way diminish or minimize the fact that the nazis were assholes, but they were no more relevant to this game and this topic than they are to the War of Spanish Succession

2.  Not every game featuring early-20th-century Germans, or colonial powers, must inherently feature mechanics around atrocities committed against native populations.  Some do, some don't and we all know there are designers that are happy to gloss over them entirely while there are other games that want to specifically set those topics front-&-center.
I don't know enough about this specific game to say, one way or the other, largely b/c people *just* started receiving it
But given that the designer passed away several years ago, and the remaining development was a team effort, it's unlikely there's "one" answer to why something is present in the game.

All that said, the bigger issue here is that one of the moderators asked you to drop the specific line of questioning, and it's not that they aren't questions that might be of interest to you about this game, but rather that there are some more sensitive topics that we don't want to stray into "flame war" territory here after seeing how they got out of hand elsewhere. :cowboy:

Please follow the guidance of the mods rather than poking back at them

I'm not going to argue with you. Just please take note of the site rules.

I didn't know warcrimes or asking whether historical facts were mentioned in any way in the game were controversial ...

OK, but this site is about games, so please lets not let the discussion slide into controversial waters. Our site rules are quite explicit about this. C:-)

Right, but Lettow-Vorbeck
- served under von Trotha during the genocide against the Herero and Nama from 1904-1908, killing 70,000,
- as well as during the Maji-Maji-Rebellion in which the Schutztruppe caused up to 300,000 dead by scorching fields and wells,
- applied the same scorched earth tactics during his command of the Schutztruppe from 1914-1918, causing the death of another 300,000 forced laborers and civilians by starvation,
- took part in the Kapp-Putsch against the Weimar Republic,
- supported the NSDAP, even if only briefly, which also renamed dozens of streets in Germany to celebrate the "colonial heroes".

So ... I'd say there is something to talk about there.

First Impressions: Spring Awakening ‘45

Just before their eventual surrender, Germany launched one final major offensive in Western Hungary. The goal for Germany was to carry on the fight by controlling vital resources and to defending industrial regions against the Soviet advance. It’s the beginning of March in 1945 as Germany’s Operation Spring Awakening begins. Wargame Design Studios gives you the chance to play through the campaign yourself in Spring Awakening ‘45, the latest volume in the WDS Panzer Campaigns series and the first full Panzer Campaigns game from designer César ‘Indragnir’ Moreno.

I'm a little unsure what that refers to. Its WW1, so pre-Nazi period.
