Why - why do we do it? Serious question.
Because we can?
Because it's nice to buy things we couldn't previously?
Because we like to have options?
Because we have an uncontrollable problem akin to heroin addiction and get the itchy-itchies when we go without buying a new game for a week (your mileage may vary) or so?
*we*
I know I was being totally irrational
I just thought - get used to a system - and enjoy that system - and then buy another game to learn a new system.
I've probably played no more than 2 scenarios of most of the games I have...only Phantom Leader and Combat! stick in my mind as having had more table time. I've been reading the rules for Front Toward Enemy for the last week or so - and now I've got it to the table, I'm already looking forward to learning and playing both The Last Hundred Yards and Old School Tactical.
But on the other hand, I'm really wanting to go back to Combat!, LnL WaW 85, LnL Tactical. Hell Day of Heroes hasn't even had the rules read yet.
I just wish I could say no more and play the very, very good games I already have.
Alas - it seems I'm not that strong.
