Mentioned in Dispatches Season 10 Ep 5 ~ Wargaming and Digital AI

10 March 2023

Brant, Bryan, Jim, and James all gang up to talk about different facets of artificial intelligence in wargaming, and other digital games.  How “intelligent” do you really want it to be?  A dedicated opponent?  A shadowboxer?

Don’t forget, you can always catch up with past episodes on the “podcast” tab of our site.

While talking through the options, we cover a variety of games and AIs, from Tiller to Panther to Elder Scrolls to semi-legal free-on-the-web adaptations of game.  We talk about indicators that we see in games of in/competent AIs and the level of details we would ideally want when playing.

Why are you gaming with an AI?  What do you expect from the AI?  How can those requirements be baked in up front?  And what do Pop-tarts have to do with any of this?  All that and more, right now on… {announcer voice} MENNNNNN-tioned in DISPATCHES! {/announcer voice}

Please trot on over to the iTunes page for our podcast and give us a rating – whatever you think is fair!
We’re still a few reviews short of iTunes recommending us in their podcast engine, and every rating helps.  Thanks!
