We’ve now got 2 online conventions under our belts here at the Armchair Dragoons. But there’s other folks out there that have quite a few more, and we’ve invited 2 of them to join us for this discussion of the nuts & bolts of online conventions. Chris, of The Grognard File, and veteran online GM Jimmy V, join us to talk about their background with online conventions, registration and platforms, cameras on vs off, and making online connections for players.
Don’t forget, you can always catch up with past episodes on the “podcast” tab of our site.
None of us have figured out the best way to integrate vendors into a digital convention, but we do have some mixtures of seminars, talk shows, and workshops that have had success alongside our gaming. Time zones can be a headache, but honestly that’s kind of a neat problem to have, isn’t it? We don’t spend a lot of time talking about too many specific games, but we do talk about specific events, like the GROGMEET and SDHISTCON and GaryCon and Origins and the ACDC.
Interested in your own online convention? Drop us a line and let’s all share some ideas.
If you get a chance, please go hit the iTunes page for our podcast and give us a rating – whatever you think is fair! We need some more reviews before iTunes will start recommending us in their podcast engine, so every rating helps!
